Fashion Thursday #2

I call this "Office Wrinkle"

I like to laugh at myself - so I invite you to do the same.
You can find me in this particular ensemble pretty much every day. I found the American Eagle cardi circ. 2004 at Value Village and I wear it a lot! The Black T was on sale at Banana Republic this spring and the pants are Calvin Klein from Macy's NEW!
I'm wearing the same red Dansko Mary Janes that I had on last week, Richard gave me those for Christmas last year and they make all my outfits seem less boring (sorry they're cut off in the picture).

Happy Fashion Thursday

I know I should not be standing in front of the giant window to take these pictures - it's just the best location I've found so far.

Fashion Thursday

Is there a Fashion Thursday? Well, I've never really been that 'fashionable' but I do make some interesting clothing choices. Since this is about as creative as I've been in a while I thought I'd start 'fashion thursday' for those of us who make interesting fashion choices.

I've always been a goucho girl. Here are a couple of my recent goucho combos

There's a post in here somewhere

I keep thinking that I'll have a great idea. I keep thinking that something will come to me and all the stuff that I've been doing or not doing will suddenly gel together and form some sort of meaningful thought provoking reflection on my life.
I think that I'm waiting for something that's never going to get here so I'm going to fly by the seat of my pants and see where I land....
Is it just me or is anyone else glad that summer is almost over? There's no less things to do now that it's fall there's certainly no more time in the day to get things done but I am ready for transition. You?

I recently had Laparscopic surgery - that was not really a great time. I had level two Endometriosis, I say 'had' because the Doc says he cured me.... we'll see. It was day surgery and recovery has been fairly quick. It's been two weeks now and my incisions are fading but there's still a lot of discomfort and a noticeable reduction in the amount of times I can run up the stairs in one day. Anyway, up to this surgery I had never been in the hospital, never, not once. When I was a kid I used to think that God (whoever that was or is) wouldn't let me break any bones and get cool casts like other kids because he had something BIG in store for me. Yes something even more tragic than a silly broken arm. I was in for something really bad. Could this be it? The little kid in my head asked. The answer from the 35 year old is GOD please let the answer be yes.

About two weeks before the surgery I came down with some sort of horrible painful, blistery and itchy rash on my arms. I spent two weeks trying every home remedy and prescription I could get my hands on. Nothing worked.
I spent two weeks walking around with ice packs tethered to my arms, doped up on antihistamines, hoping that this, whatever it is, would go away. The day after my surgery the rash finally seemed to subside. It's still unclear what caused the rash. We think it may have been a poison plant in the garden, probably exacerbated by stress, who knows....

(you can see some of the rash in this picture)

In retrospect an 8 hour drive which turned into a 12 hour drive 3 days after having surgery doesn't really seem all that smart. But we had a wedding to get to and well the ocean was near and it was a long weekend and the dogs were already booked at daycare and well...we went. Richard did ALL the driving, he's the biggest sweetheart in town.
He took me to the beach and up and down the Oregon coast and made sure I wasn't doing too much - I'm not sure he's quite recovered yet.

I'm so glad we went and
dug our feet down into the warm sand. For me it was like a reward for having surgery (apart from the 'cured' part).

This week I have been enjoying the 'piles' posts from one of my all time favorite creative types Lisa Solomon

While I haven't been feeling crafty or creative at all I do have some piles and various views into my current world to share with you.

binders
Piles of binders for my Red Shoe Event committee - Yup it's that time again.

boxes
3 years worth of event collateral on my dining room table.
